Dance the Pounds Away With Dance Exercise Videos

Let’s face it. Exercising for weight loss can be a pain in the butt. Usually it involves lifting weights or contorting your body into uncomfortable positions. Another real turn off is the easier exercises like walking, jogging or elliptical training can be downright dull at times.

The good news is that you can add a little spice to your exercise routine with a few entertaining dance exercise videos. While dancing for exercise is nothing new, there are now a lot more choices for those looking to two-step their way to weight loss.

The whole dance exercise video craze seemed to start years ago with the Richard Simmons exercise videos. Richard has a unique personality and likes to combine upbeat oldies music with easy-to-do exercise moves. His videos are still popular today because they’re packed with fun and show that heavyset people can, indeed, shake their booties just like everyone else.

Today, there’s a lot more variety to choose from. You can dance away the pounds to Latin rhythm, delicate ballet moves, hip hop beats and many other popular styles. One of the more recent popular exercise dancing videos is the Dancing With the Stars Video series. This is a popular TV program where celebrities get to show off their dancing skills with professional dancers.

The huge popularity of Dancing With the Stars has inspired a whole segment of the population to get off their duffs and learn how to do ballroom dance steps with a little extra umpf. I think this is great since I myself have enjoyed following along with videos that teach dance exercises.

In order to lose weight consistently, you have to include exercise in any well planned diet program. But who says that exercise has to be boring?

I suggest you give a dance exercise video a try and see how quickly you find yourself moving and grooving to the music. I guarantee you’ll have so much fun that you’ll forget you’re actually getting in some much needed physical activity.

You don’t even have to be much of a dancer, just be willing to let yourself go and leave all the day’s stress behind. If you can move your feet back and forth, and wave your arms up in the air, that’s all the dancing talent you need to move and groove your way to weight loss success.
